Synthesis of the course

This is an introductory course for domestic helpers to help them identify their role and responsibilities in the household they are a part of.  This course defines domestic work, identifies the work that needs to be done in a household and desirable traits of a domestic worker.

Description

Domestic work is defined as the “work performed in or for a household or households”.  The ILO defines a domestic worker as someone who works in or for another person’s home who is be engaged in domestic work within an employment relationship.  A domestic worker may be part time or full time, may reside within the house hold (live-in) or outside (live-out) the household he/she is working for.
